About this tool
Why convert to JPG? JPG is the most widely supported photo format. Almost every website, app and printer accepts it, and it keeps file sizes small. It does not support transparency, so transparent areas become white.
About PNG: PNG is lossless, so it keeps every pixel exactly and supports transparent backgrounds. It is ideal for logos, screenshots and graphics with text, but photos saved as PNG are usually larger than JPG.
The conversion uses your browser's built-in image engine, so it is fast and your pictures stay on your device.
Questions
Is there a limit on the number of images?
No. You can convert as many images as your device can handle. Very large batches may take a little longer on older phones.
Will I lose quality?
You can choose the quality with the slider. The default of 92% is visually almost identical to the original.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The tool runs entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. Your files are read and processed on your own device and are never sent to us or anyone else. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it will still work.
